The State Minister for Peace Briefed Wolesi Jirga on the Peace Process

Based on the invitation of Wolesi jirga, Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi State Minister for Peace, Mawlawi Ata-ur-rahman salim and Mohammad Akram Khpalwak the deputies of the High Council for National Reconciliation briefed members of Wolesi jirga about ongoing peace process.
Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi while presenting information about the functions of state ministry for peace he emphasized that the government and the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will defend the republic and its values with a single view, in the presence or absence of foreign forces and there is a single field of vision.
The State Minister for Peace added; since the beginning of the peace talks the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has a genuine will to progress the talks. He referred the responsibility of postponement of the Istanbul Conference on Afghanistan Peace Process to the Taliban's, and said the Taliban were not interested in attending the Istanbul conference for Afghans peace.
The State Minister for Peace provided information on the technical committee for drafting the peace agreement and He added that the Ministry of State for Peace Affairs has been collected the views of the leadership committee of the High Council for National Reconciliation. He also said that 30 proposals from political parties and national figures have been unified and the views are divided into ten areas, then the outcome is presented to the technical committee of leadership board of the High Council for National Reconciliation.
He mentioned about the drafting of peace agreement and said the plans are focused on fundamental rights and values, the Taliban integration and their inclusion into civil structure of government, a ceasefire, the participation of tribes in political power and structure, a political roadmap, the Islamic Jurisprudence Council, elections and the judiciary system.
Mr. Naderi said; The plan are emphasized about temporary and general cease fire to be announcing at the same time with starting of negotiations, reaching final peace agreement required to end the war before withdrawal of foreign troops.
The State Minister for Peace said; According to the views presented for drafting of the plan, a 50% power-sharing between the government and the Taliban was not acceptable.
Mr. Naderi said that according to the plan, the views on the establishment of the Islamic Jurisprudence Council is positive and its conditional based to determine the powers, basically the council should have an advisory role.
He concluded that in all respected views they were agreed on “Principles of Election” to transfer the power, they emphasized about the presence of the judiciary system during and after Transition.
State Minister for Peace said that the plan for approval would be submitted soon to the High Council for National Reconciliation.
During the session the deputies of the High Council for National Reconciliation also provided information on the peace process and related issues.
