Press release for the dispatch of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Qatar
Kabul: The negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan left for Doha, the capital of Qatar, to participate in the first round of direct peace negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban.
In the opening ceremony of the first round of negotiations, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, the State Minister for Peace, Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdul Salam Rahimy, Special Representative of the President for Peace Affairs, will be present on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The 21-member delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan enters the negotiations while the State Ministry for Peace has provided the necessary technical and logistical support and facilities for its members since the formation of this team. And now, with God's grace, in full readiness, they begin the first round of negotiations with the Taliban.
