The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will utilize all available opportunities to achieve peace and end the suffering from this long-running war. For this reason, within the framework of our national interest, the government has cooperated with the negotiation process between the United States and the Taliban and has been kept abreast of developments of that process.
Now that more than ever before, the hope for a noticeable reduction of violence and cessation of hostilities, as well as taking practical steps towards securing peace has increased, we are ready to play an active part in that process and take any necessary measures.
We hope the other side will show its full commitment and ability to fulfill its obligations in this regard. With each passing moment, we are nearing the beginning of the violence reduction across the country. Our people pray that through our efforts we achieve the sacred goal of peace.
