The State Minister for Peace met with the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul

Abdul Salam Rahimy, Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace met with Karen Decker, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul and Dante Paradiso, Counselor for Peace and Reconciliation at U.S. Embassy Kabul to discuss recent developments in the peace process and issues related to the Qatar negotiations.
Referring to the talks between the United States and the Taliban in Doha, Ms. Karen Decker said that the Taliban have proposed reduction of violence against the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and that they will share the detailed concept with the US. 
The State Minister for Peace appreciated United States efforts in the Afghanistan peace process.
Abdul Salam Rahimy said that the government has taken effective steps in forming a political consensus for peace, and it is prepared to create a Peace Support Group and since the issue of Taliban prisoners is within the authority of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the government is taking necessary and effective measures in this regard as well.
He also talked about the recent efforts of the State Ministry for Peace and said that his meetings with the politicians were fruitful. He also indicated that in many issues of the peace process most politicians had parallel views as the government does and the government will also consider their views and proposals in all the policies concerning the peace process.
Special Representative of the President said that the ministry continues its efforts to strengthen the political consensus for the peace process.
