Tribal elders, clerics, influential figures announce support to peace process
A number of members of the Hotaki Tribe Nationwide Council, and tribal elders, Ulema (clerics), youth and influential people hailing from Logar province met with Mirwais Sargand, a senior advisor at the State Ministry for Peace (SMP), to announce their support to the government's peace process.
The participants during the meeting said they were ready to provide any kind of cooperation in this regard.
Referring to the current problems and challenges caused by the lack of peace and security, these tribal elders emphasized that peace was a crucial need for the current society. They added that as the SMP was established to advance this process, such efforts should further consistently continue.
These tribal elders requested the SMP to facilitate further participation of people in the peace process in order to make them aware of the progress made so far.
Some of these tribal elders continued to say that peace was not just about dropping guns but it had more different dimensions which needed to be addressed.
These tribal elders also emphasized that influential and experienced people from different walks of life should be involved in the peace process.
Mirwais Sargand while offering his gratitude to these tribal elders, termed their role in the peace process as effective and said: "You are the essential pillars of the peace process and it is you who can bring peace."
He stressed the unity and compatibility among all tribes of the country, calling these values as key to implementing the peace process.
