The State Minister for Peace Participates in the Online Meeting Entitled "Strengthening Peace through Pluralism"

Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi the State Minister for Peace gave a speech in an online conference entitled "Strengthening Peace through Pluralism" This online meeting was initiated by Afghanistan Embassy in Canada and the Global Center for Pluralism (GCP) with the participating of experts and individuals from governmental and non-governmental organizations.
The State Minister for Peace said at the meeting: “Our efforts in the Ministry of State for Peace, in addition to supporting the peace process, is a long-term investments in various dimensions for peace building. Therefore, this ministry has a special focus on the provinces in order to work at the local level, and our offices started working at the level of the different zones.”
He also pointed out that we are witnessing social diversity in Afghanistan society at the local level, and said that paying attention to this diversity and pluralism will strengthen national consensus and unity and make it possible to achieve lasting peace.
Mr. Naderi said that political structures should have the capacity to accommodate diverse political spectrums and facilitate a meaningful participation of different segments, adding that the education system at the secondary and tertiary levels could promote mutual beneficial values, pointing out these issues will help an ideal economic market to enable a diverse society. 
Mr. Naderi said that over the past 20 years, a large number of educated young people had been growth across Afghanistan, adding that these young people were supporting a lasting peace and that peace efforts based on their capacity should be aimed at strengthening this generation. These issues will ensure the preservation of their achievements.
The State Minister for Peace also expressed the hope that such programs would facilitate a constructive discourse on how to build structures to promote pluralism and provide meaningful political participation in order to achieve a lasting and dignified peace.
The meeting was attended by Hassan Soroosh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Canada, Reid Douglas Sirrs Ambassador of Canada to Kabul, Saud Al Mahmoud, Ambassador of Qatar to Canada, Meredith Preston McGhie Secretary General at Global Centre for Pluralism, Jayne Barlow Director of Programs at Global Centre for Pluralism, Christopher Thornton Special Advisers at Center for Global Pluralism, focused on the role of diversity and pluralism in societies and its impact on peace.
It should be noted that the World Center for Pluralism is an independent charitable organization established by His Excellency Aga Khan and the Government of Canada to promote peaceful coexistence and pluralism in diverse communities.
