The State Minister for Peace, Inaugurated Peace Awareness and Educational Programs for the Year of 2021

Educational and awareness programs of the State Ministry for Peace in order to peace building for the year of 2021 were inaugurated during a ceremony attended by Mawlawi Ata-ur-Rahman Salim, the Deputy of High Council for National Reconciliation, Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi the State Minister for Peace, Mohammad Taher Zaheer the Minister of Information and Culture, Hosna Jalil the Deputy Minister of Women’s Affairs, government officials, representatives of civil society, athletes and the media at the hall of the State Ministry for Peace.
At the beginning of ceremony Mawlavi Ata-ur-Rahman Salim Deputy of High Council for National reconciliation spoke about the importance of promoting a culture of peace.
He said that the peace structures of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan have taken steps to promote a culture of peace, build national and international consensus and move towards a real and meaningful dialogue for peace.
“Many communities that reached a political agreement but could not work to build peace, did not receive the desired result. We are determined to be successful in this area by expanding the activities of the State Ministry for Peace in the provinces and the representations of the High Council for National Reconciliation”. Said Salim.
The framework for the talks has been handed over to the negotiating team, which will soon travel to Qatar to participate in the talks with firmness and determination.
Mr. Salim said that the emphasis on the negotiating parties and all sections of society to achieve their rights as a result of the negotiations and no stake should be deprived in these negotiations.
He also stressed that peace is possible when there is the intention and will for peace on both sides and Afghanistan is fully prepared for negotiations.
The Deputy of High Council for National Reconciliation expressed hope that the other side of the negotiations must have a sincere intention to achieve an acceptable result for the people of Afghanistan and enter directly into the main discussions.
Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Tahir Zaheer said that peace needed intellectual and cultural transformation, and that the young generation needed to be aware of the consequences of war and the benefits of peace.
Mr. Zaheer called the launch of educational programs an effective step in creating culture and educating the youth for peace, and said that the Ministry of Information and Culture is ready to cooperate with the State ministry for peace.
Hosna Jalil, Deputy Minister of Women's Affairs, spoke about the role of women in the peace process, saying that Afghan women make up 51% of Afghanistan's human capital and that they cannot be ignored in development programs.
He stressed that women have a major role to play in peace building at the grassroots level and in institutionalizing peace, which must be facilitated.
Ms. Jalil said: "In the women's section, we need to change the narrative." Preserving achievements is not the sole desire of women; Because the achievements are not complete and we want to strengthen, expand and complete it.
She also pledged that the Ministry of Women's Affairs would work with women to make better use of their capacity and to play a greater role in the peace process.
The State Minister for Peace said that social peace is not possible without education and culture, and that it is impossible to achieve a dignified, lasting and just peace without social peace. "peace, education, strengthens common values in society, builds social capacity, promotes a culture of peace and reduces violence," he said. "That’s why the state Ministry building is at the top of its agenda."
Mr. Naderi said the ministry planned to implement large, medium and small peacebuilding programs across the country by 2021.
He stressed that peacebuilding is a collective responsibility and requires long-term plans and the involvement of all segments of society, the Ministry is working with other peace-related structures on political reconciliation, technical and substantive cooperation.
He also said that efforts are being made to strengthen the political and national consensus and that progress has been made in this regard.
"The diversity of views is a strong point of the republic and we will create a single view from it." There is continued support from the international community in this process. With the withdrawal of foreign forces, there is no justification for the continuation of the war, and according to the orders of Islam, war between two Muslim tribes is not permissible.
He called the current opportunity the best for peace and called on the Taliban to seize the opportunity and contribute to Afghanistan's future, the government is committed to the Doha talks and that the Afghan government wants to continue serious, comprehensive and meaningful talks that will lead to an end to violence and lasting peace.
At the end of the ceremony, a letter of appreciation was presented to the officials of a number of civil society organizations for their public awareness programs in the State Ministry for Peace, The Peace awareness programs in Kabul and other provinces are to be held by the State Ministry for Peace to the year 2021 in the different form which is short-term, medium-term and long-term programs.
