State Minister for Peace met with Norwegian Ambassador

Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Minister for Peace met with the Norwegian Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Ole Andreas Lindeman.
During the meeting, Mr. Naderi expressed his appreciation for Norway's constructive and important supportive role in the ongoing peace negotiations.
The State Minister for Peace also shared the State Ministry's long-term vision for peace and the need to build capacity to implement the reconciliation and peacebuilding process.
Emphasizing the importance of the ceasefire, Mr. Naderi said that violence should not be used to seek concessions in peace negotiations. He called for a widespread and real de-escalation of violence.
On the other hand, the Norwegian Ambassador expressed his interest in supporting the peace negotiations and cooperation with the State Ministry for Peace in various fields, including technical and specialized assistance.
He described peace building as an important part of Norway's foreign policy, and said that the country is working to make it a top priority for UN security council.
The Norwegian Ambassador also said that they are reviewing their joint strategy with Afghanistan and expressed hope that peacebuilding would be included in the strategy.
He reiterated his country's continued support for advancing the peace process.
The two sides agreed to work on a common long-term peace strategy, including peace diplomacy, peacebuilding and the exchange of knowledge and technical skills. They also agreed to work on Norway's role in gaining the support of the United Nations and its Security Council for the Afghanistan peace process.
