The State Minister for Peace met with Canada's Ambassador to Afghanistan
Abdul Salam Rahimy, Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace met with Dave Metcalfe, Canada's Ambassador to Afghanistan.
In this meeting, the two sides discussed the role of women in the Afghan peace process.
The Special Representative of the President said that the State Ministry for Peace has created a women's advisory board for peace affairs. The board will consult with the ministry at various levels concerning the peace process and will reflect the voices of women from all across the country.
Praising the recent efforts of the State Ministry for Peace, the Canadian ambassador said that Canada supports the widespread presence of women in the Afghan peace process and expressed hope that not only Kabul women but also women across Afghanistan would be included in the process.
Mr. Rahimy expressed his gratitude for Canada's support for women's participation in the Afghan peace process and invited Canada’s Ambassador, Dave Metcalfe to join the Peace support group for building better coordination between the State Ministry for Peace and the international community.
