State Minister for Peace meets USAID delegation

The Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace, Abdul Salam Rahimy, met with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) delegation on Thursday morning.

During the meeting, Karen Freeman, the Assistant to the Administrator and Director of the Office of Afghanistan, announced that the agency was ready to support the State Ministry for Peace (SMP).

Ms. Freeman and her accompanying delegation pledged to maintain USAID coordination and cooperation to the SMP.

Rahimy while pointing to the effectiveness of the USAID-run programs, expressed his gratitude to the organization for cooperation and support in the past and for its readiness to continue cooperation in the future.

Emphasizing the impact of the Afghan peace process on the situation in the region and the world, he said the SMP welcomed the cooperation of partners and international institutions.
