The State Minister for Peace meets with Russian Ambassador to Kabul

Abdul Salam Rahimy, Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace met with Alexander Mantetsky, Russian Ambassador to Kabul to discuss the creation of an international group supporting the peace process in Afghanistan.

State Minister Rahimy said the initiative – having been proposed by the President – will be implemented under his guidance to reinforce the global consensus on peace and beef up the peace effort.
The Russian ambassador welcomed the creation of an international group supporting the peace process in Afghanistan, calling it an effective step towards integrating international activities.
Secretariat tasks of the proposed international group will also be undertaken by the State Ministry for Peace.
