State minister for peace meets with Norwegian special envoy for Afghanistan

Abdul Salam Rahimy, the Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace, on Sunday, August 18, met with the Norwegian Special Representative for Afghanistan Per Albert Ilsaas, and representatives from the US and German embassies.
Mr. Rahimy and representatives of Norway, US and Germany spoke about the initial preparations for the peace talks between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban.
Mr. Rahimy also reiterated the government's commitment to bring a peaceful end to the war, emphasizing on efforts to ensure a lasting and dignified peace, preparations of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to initiate the peace negotiations, including the appointment of the 15-member delegation, and assured of the cohesion and coordination within this team.
The meeting also stressed on the need for a specified and coherent agenda for peace negotiations.
