State Minister for Peace Meets new Australian Ambassador to Kabul

The Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace, Abdul Salaam Rahimy, met with Geoff Tooth, the newly appointed Australian Ambassador to Afghanistan, as part of an introduction meeting. 

During the meeting, the new Australian ambassador said his government supported the peace process in Afghanistan. He spoke about his countrymen’s commitment to the Afghan peace process. Mr. Tooth also conveyed the message of the committed Afghans residing in his country regarding peace process to Mr. Rahimy, and emphasized that those Afghans resolutely and comprehensively supported the intra-Afghan peace negotiations.  
 

At the meeting, Mr. Rahimy expressed gratitude for Australia's commitment and support to the Afghan peace process. He also called for the country’s cooperation to Afghanistan in various fields, including higher education.
