State Minister for Peace Meets China’s Ambassador to Afghanistan

The Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace, Abdul Salam Rahimy, met with Mr. Wang Yu, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China and discussed the latest developments in the peace process of Afghanistan. 

Abdul Salam Rahimy said that reduction in violence was not measurable and practical and stressed that the position of the government of Afghanistan prior to peace negotiation with the Taliban is the establishment of a ceasefire. He also said that the government of Afghanistan was ready for commencing peace negotiations. 

The ambassador of the People’s Republic of China assured his government's support to the peace process of Afghanistan.
