Proposals from women and girls with disabilities from 34 provinces were shared with members of the negotiating team
In a meeting, women and girls with disabilities shared their proposal regarding the peace process as a report with members of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan namely with Habiba Sarabi and Sharifa Zurmati Wardak.
At the beginning of the meeting, Habiba Sarabi presented information on the progress of the peace process and the activities of the negotiating team, and said that the negotiating team had received the views and opinions of different strata in various meetings. She added that the consultation process is ongoing and that the negotiating team will present the proposals of women and girls with disabilities in the peace negotiations.
The female participants shared their concerns, problems, suggestions and comments on the peace process with members of the negotiating team.
They called on the negotiating team not to forget the disabled, who are the main victims of the war, during the peace talks.
Sharifa Zurmati Wardak thanked the participants and asked them to support the negotiating team and stressed that they would bring their voices to the negotiating table.
Noting that war is a common pain of all Afghans, Habiba Sarabi stressed that they will share what happened to the victims of the past war at the negotiating table.
She said that the success of the negotiations is associated with the support of the war victims and said that without their support, the process would not be successful.
It is noteworthy that the report on the proposals of girls and women with disabilities for peace talks has been collected by the Afghan Women's Institute for Peace and Freedom from 34 provinces and according to the institute, more than 1300 people, 70% of whom were women and girls with disabilities, had participated in the poll.
