Peace in Afghanistan is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan
Abdul Salam Rahimy, Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace met with Rashid Meredow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In this meeting, the State Minister for Peace referred to the cultural and brotherly relations between the two countries and expressed his gratitude for Turkmenistan's cooperation in the development of Afghanistan, regional projects and its attention to the Afghan peace process.
He added that the Afghan people have created a national consensus for peace and that the establishment of the State Ministry for Peace and its approval by the National Assembly reflects this decision.
Abdul Salam Rahimy said that the Afghan government will use all the opportunities for peace and will always keep the doors of peace open.
He added that the people of Afghanistan welcome Turkmenistan's active role in the peace process and want this country to be a member of the Afghanistan Peace Process Support Group.
Rashid Meredow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also referred to the age-old relations between the two countries and wished peace and prosperity for Afghanistan.
He added that Turkmenistan wants to further strengthen relations with Afghanistan and, therefore, besides supporting the Afghan peace process it stands ready to cooperate in facilitating the process as well.
At the end of the meeting, he said that peace in Afghanistan is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan.
