Meeting of a number of members of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with the Head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars

A number of members of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with the Head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, today in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Mr. Ahmad Al-Raysuni, Head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, welcomed the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and referring to the Afghan peace negotiations he said that: “We wish Afghanistan to emerge as a good example among Islamic countries and the world.”

Mr. Al-Raysuni expressed readiness for any kind of cooperation and said that the International Union of Muslim Scholars fully supports the Afghanistan peace negotiations.

On the other hand, the members of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan provided clarification about the Afghanistan peace negotiations and described the current situation in Afghanistan to the officials of the union. The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan called on the International Union of Muslim Scholars to use its influence and fully support the Afghanistan peace negotiations. Their support can bring a ceasefire, an end to the killing of Afghans and an end to bloodshed in Afghanistan.

In this meeting, Mr. Ali Muhiuddin, Head of the Secretariat of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, referring to his 50-year recognition of Afghanistan and Afghans, said that Afghanistan is the homeland of Imam Abu Hanifa and that the organization will fully support the Afghanistan peace negotiations.

The International Union of Muslim Scholars was established in 2004 in Qatar. This institution has branches in 93 Islamic countries and is registered by 250 Islamic organizations. This institution has a position of authority in the Islamic world and important issues from various countries are referred to this institution.
