Biography of Batur Dostum, Member of the Negotiating Team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
Alhaj Batur Dostum, son of Alhaj Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum, was born in the year 1988 in Khwaja Du Koh district of Jawzjan province. He studied elementary school (first grade) before the Taliban's presence at Ibn Yamin School in Jawzjan. He then continued his elementary education at the Oran Pirihan School in Turkey and his high school education at the Ozel Ahmad Olsoy School in Turkey. In 2014, he received a bachelor's degree in international relations from Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey. Currently, Mr. Dostum is completing his master's degree.
Mr. Batur Dostum can speak in Uzbek, Dari, Turkey, English and Turkmen languages.
From 2008 to 2014, he worked for the "Turk Dunyasi" organization, and in the same years, he has done social services, along continuation of his studies. From 2011 to 2017, he was the head of the Dostum Charity Foundation. Mr. Batur Dostum has also funded Batur Belim Yurti training centers in Takhar and Jawzjan provinces.

In 2017, Mr. Dostum was elected as the head of the National Islamic Movement Party. He has also worked at the Dostum Foundation. Dostum Foundation is active in the areas of providing charitable assistance to the victims of floods, earthquakes and civil wars in different provinces, treating incurable patients at home and abroad and paying for the needs of the sick, cooperating in publishing religious, educational and cultural books, organizing scientific and cultural conferences to strengthen languages and enhances educational capacity.
Mr. Dostum is currently a member of the Wolesi Jirga (Parliament) and a member of the Negotiating Team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Addressing the problems and needs of clients in Kabul and Jawzjan province, employing young people in various departments in the government and various other departments, providing educational opportunities to young people in different countries, passing several laws with members of the Wolesi Jirga in the National Assembly and monitoring and evaluating the current political situation as well as ad-vocating for the problems of the people are among his achievements.
