National Day of Supporting Security and Defense Forces Was Celebrated in a Glorious Gathering
The national day of supporting security and defense forces was celebrated in a joint event by the State Ministry for Peace and the Political Parties’ Contact Committee for Peace, with the participation of officials from the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) and the State Ministry of Peace, representatives of political parties, and a number of security and defense forces.
Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Minister for Peace, while congratulating the day to the country’s brave soldiers, referred to the background of this day and said that 101 years ago Ghazi Amanullah Khan declared the 9th of Hoot [solar month] as the day of Afghanistan’s liberation and the cabinet of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan approved the 9th of Hoot as the national day of supporting the defense and security forces of the country.
He said, “Today, due to the courageous heroism of our security and defense forces, now there is a national consensus on peace and politicians and leaders are defending the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan under the umbrella of the republic”.
Mr. Naderi added that the opportunity for peace had been achieved through the country’s national forces’ bravery. He further stated that our message to the Taliban is not to miss the golden opportunity with continuing war and killing Muslims, because no one would win the war and we must respect the Afghan people’s demand about ceasefire and stopping the bloodshed.
The State Minister for Peace said that the solution to differences is not war but negotiations, and therefore, it should be pursued seriously.
Nazir Ahmad Ahmadzai, senior adviser to the president, congratulated the national day to the defense and security forces. He called the heroism of these forces a great pride of Afghans.
Mr. Ahmadzai thanked for holding the program and said that the Afghan Defense and Security Forces have not only defended their people, but their fight is for humanity and against terrorism.
He stressed the need for unity and responsibility of all ethnic groups in this regard, saying that the people’s strength lies in their unity.
Asadullah Saadati, deputy chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), thanked the State Ministry for Peace and the Political Parties’ Contact Committee for Peace, calling the national forces’ role unique, uniting the nation and the government.
Referring to the martyrs (Shuhada) of the security and defense forces, Mr. Saadati praised their courage in protecting their people and their homeland. He added that the call for peace does not mean underestimating the sacrifices of security forces, but a just peace depends on the security and defense forces’ strong strides. He said our upper hand in the trenches has made us have a strong position at the negotiation table.
The deputy chairman of the HCNR said that the motives for the war should be removed. According to him, our security and defense forces should be the guardians of territorial integrity against foreign invasions, not to fight inside the country. He added that this wish is impossible without the resistance and courage of the country’s brave forces.
Mr. Saadati further said that the war is not the choice of the Islamic Republic and that we are defending our values because of our religious and patriotic duty.
Laila Jafari, Director of Political Structures and Civil Society Organizations of the SMP recited her poem and thanked the security and defense forces.
Habibullah Sanjar, a member of the Political Parties Contact Committee for Peace, congratulated all the defense and security forces on their national day and said that the investments, reconstruction and presence at the negotiation table have all been made with the sacrifices of the national forces. Therefore the people of Afghanistan support these forces.
Mohammad Ibrahim Rahimi, another member of the Political Parties Contact Committee for Peace, said that the Afghan people owe a debt to the mothers of the martyrs of the security and defense forces, adding that it is our duty to rise up for national unity. He said no action against the Islamic Republic is acceptable.
He further stated that our Constitution is based on Islamic principles and the Islamic system is in place, and the political parties express their firm support for the republic and the security and defense forces.
Mr. Rahimi called on the government to pay more attention to the country’s heroes and spare no effort to fund and equip them.
Mawlana Abdul Sami Mowahed, another member of the Political Parties Contact Committee for Peace, also praised the security and defense forces’ bravery, saying they are the real Mujahideen.

Referring to Islamic narrations about the excellence of prayer in the trenches, he said that the fatwa on jihad against the Muslim soldiers of the ANA is meaningless. He added that the security forces are not personal bodyguards; they are their homeland’s real guardians.
Turan Alan Khan added that the defense and security forces want peace from a strong position, in which Afghan girls can study like girls in our neighboring countries.
In the end, letters of appreciation were distributed to the Defense and Security Forces officers and soldiers. Officials and participants in the event also donated blood to Defense and Security Forces soldiers.
