Meeting of the State Ministry for Peace with Media Analysts and Experts
Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, the State Minister for Peace and Member of the Negotiating Team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with a number of leading media analysts and experts of peace at the State Minister for Peace.
During the meeting, the State Minister for Peace shed light on the progress of the peace negotiations in Doha. Referring to the activities of the State Ministry for Peace, Mr. Naderi said that the ministry is the connecting point between the people and the peace structures, and “we are working to maintain a continuous relationship between the people, the negotiating team and the government”.
Mr. Naderi also emphasized the role of leading intellectuals and experts in the peace process and talked about the structural initiatives and plans of the Ministry for inclusion and meaningful participation of intellectuals and experts in the peace process.
Meanwhile, the participants also shared their views and opinions on various dimensions of the peace process. They stressed that efforts should be made for the peace process to be in the highest interests of the country and to preserve the achievements and freedoms of the people in accordance with people’s fundamental rights.
The participants also made suggestions for improving the convergence of the government and the nation. They called the establishing of some structures, like think tanks, as one of the ways in which the views of the people and the elite could be obtained. The participants further emphasized the continuity of such meetings.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Abdullah Khenjani, the Deputy Minister of Coordination, Policy and Strategy of the State Ministry for Peace, said that the strategic studies on peace are important and it has been included in the structural reform of the ministry. He added that steps have been taken regarding such suggestions and the work will be continued on them.
Mr. Khenjani stressed the continuation of such meetings and said that the suggestions and recommendations would be discussed in more detail in the future meetings.
