Meeting of the Acting Minister of the SMP with Norwegian Charge d'Affaires in Kabul
Mr. Abdullah Khenjani, Acting Minister of the State Ministry for Peace and Deputy Minister for Coordination, Policy and Strategy, met with Mr. Carl P. Salicath Norwegian Chargé d'Affaires in Kabul.
The Acting Minister of the State Ministry for Peace shed light on the developments in the Afghanistan peace negotiations in Doha. He expressed his profound concern over the escalation of violence and targeted assassinations in Afghanistan, saying that this level of violence is unacceptable to the Afghan people while the peace negotiations are going on in Doha.
Mentioning the Afghans' mutual commitment to transparency and joint accountability, Mr. Khenjani also praised the commitment of the international community, including Norway, towards the future of Afghanistan.
Mr. Carl P. Salicath, the Norwegian Charge d'Affaires in Kabul condemned the recent targeted killings, while expressing his country's support for the Afghanistan peace negotiations. He emphasized the joint efforts of the two countries to achieve enduring peace in Afghanistan.
Recalling the commitments of the international community at the Afghanistan 2020 Conference in Geneva, Mr. Carl P. Salicath added that the country is committed to continuing cooperation with the Afghan people.
