Launch of the Exhibition “A Photo for Ceasefire”
A one-day photo exhibition titled "A Photo for Ceasefire" was launched at the State Ministry for Peace with the participation of a number of prominent photographers and painters, artists, and media representatives.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Abdullah Khenjani, the Deputy Minister of Coordination, Policy and Strategy of the State Ministry for Peace, enlightened the gathering about the ministry's approach to peacebuilding and the need for cultural and artistic programs.
Mr. Khenjani said the exhibition was aimed at showcasing the ugliness and harms of war, depicting an atmosphere of happiness, peace and security, as well as promoting empathy and prosperity, to show how important peace is to the Afghan people and how much war has cost them.
Abdul Aziz Haidari, the Director of Conferences, Events and Programs of the State Ministry for Peace, also said that the ministry, by organizing this exhibition and other similar programs, is working to provide an atmosphere of empathy for peace dialogue and an end to the violence in the country.
Sayed Zia Danesh, the Director of Public Awareness of the State Ministry for Peace, highlighted the importance of holding cultural and artistic programs relating to peace, considering its long-lasting effect on people’s morale and mind. Therefore, the State Ministry for Peace, by holding such programs, intends to focus more on peacebuilding and promotion of peace.
Worth mentioning that the exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Afghanistan Center at Kabul University (ACKU), the Afghanistan Human Rights and Democracy Organization (AHRDO), the Afghanistan Institute for Fundamental Rights Watch, and the Mediothek Afghanistan.
