Khatam Al-Qur'an Ceremony Held at the State Ministry for Peace
A Khatam Al-Qur'an (Qur'an recitation) ceremony was held by the State Ministry for Peace in the presence of religious scholars, officials and employees of the Ministry in order to offer prayers to the souls of the martyrs of the recent events and grief in the national mourning.
At the end of the ceremony, Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Minister for Peace and Member of the Negotiating Team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, condemned yesterday's terrorist attack on Kabul University and recent similar incidents. He added that Islam has a special place among the people and yesterday’s attack and similar incidents after the start of the peace negotiations does not only have no place in Islam, but it is outside the realm of humanity.
Expressing his condolences to the families of the martyrs of the recent events, Mr. Naderi said: "The enemies of Afghanistan are against peace, but the door of the State Ministry for Peace is always open and we try to ensure real, dignified and lasting peace in the country."
He also stressed that the escalation of violence and recent incidents is not only unacceptable for Afghans, but also for neighboring countries and the international community.
