Holding the fourth meeting of the Senior Coordination Committee for Peace Affairs
The fourth meeting of the "Senior Coordination Committee for Peace Affairs" by participation of the committee members was chaired by Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, the State Minister for Peace and a member of the Negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The State Minister for Peace initially provided information on recent developments in the peace process, including the finalization of the negotiation procedure and the establishment of the Leadership Committee of High Council for National Reconciliation.
Mr. Naderi said the agreement on the negotiation procedure was an important step and the beginning of a new phase in the peace process. He also called the inauguration of the leadership committee of the High Council for National Reconciliation a good news for the people of Afghanistan and emphasized that the inauguration of this committee shows the existence of political and national consensus for the peace process and the national interests of the people.
At the meeting, members of the Senior Coordination Committee for Peace Affairs talked about the peace process and how the committee should play a role in advancing peace process programs.
It is noteworthy that the Senior Coordination Committee for Peace Affairs consists of fourteen government institutions established by the decree of the President to implement the coordination and integration of peace programs, and the State Ministry for Peace is responsible for the leadership and secretariat of this committee.
