Consultative Meeting of the Negotiation Team with the People of Badakhshan
A consultative meeting of the negotiation team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with various segments of the people of Badakhshan, hosted by the Deputy Ministry for Coordination of Tribes, was held at the State Ministry for Peace.
The meeting was attended by Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai, head of the negotiation team, Fawzia Koofi and Dr. Mohammad Amin Ahmadi, members of the negotiation team. At the beginning, Mr. Abdul Khaliq Balakarzai, Deputy Minister for Coordination of Tribes and Institutions of the State Ministry for Peace, said that the meeting is a part of the consultative meetings of the negotiation team with various strata of the people in the provinces to ensure engagement of the people in the peace process and receiving their views.
Afterwards, the head and members of the negotiation team briefed the participants on the functions of the team in the first round of the negotiation and discussed issues related to the agenda of the second round of the peace negotiations.
The meeting participants also shared their comments, suggestions and questions with members of the negotiation team.
Emphasizing the preservation of the achievements, immediate ceasefire and ending or the war, they called on the negotiation team members to defend the rights and values of the Afghan people.
The negotiation team members answered their questions after receiving the comments and suggestions of the participants and assured that the team will strictly defend the values and wants of the Afghan people.
