Abdul Salam Rahimy: social peace is essential for peace in the country

The Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace Abdul Salam Rahimy has met with the delegation of the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP).

Andrew Wilder, the vice president of Asia programs at USIP, Scott Smith, USIPs senior technical advisor on Afghanistan and Ehsan Zia, USIP's country director in Afghanistan participated in the meeting. They discussed the efforts of this organization for social peace on the central and provincial levels. USIP’s team said that this program was for the long-term and have special attention to youth, women and civil society organizations (CSOs) participation.

The Special Representative of the President and the State Minister for Peace shared information about the activities of the State Ministry for Peace (SMP) and its special focus on social peace to achieve peace in the country.

Abdul Salam Rahimy called for further coordination between different institutions for the efficiency of their programs.
